A journey of taste and tradition

From her mother's kitchen
to a wider table.

Vishaka Damwani's connection with Sindhi cuisine began in the aromas and rhythms of her mother's kitchen in Ulhasnagar, Mumbai. From an early age, she was encouraged to explore the food of her heritage and to notice the small details that make a family recipe feel different from any other.

Her journey has been supported by her husband, Suresh, and shaped by the generations around her. Her mother-in-law, Kavita Damwani, brought experimentation and curiosity into the kitchen, while her daughters Radhika and Navya became part of the future she wanted to build: a future in which Sindhi food and the Sindhi language remain familiar to young people.

That purpose led to the creation of Sindh Ji Rasoi, a YouTube channel dedicated to traditional Sindhi recipes presented in the Sindhi language. The channel is not only a collection of cooking videos. It is a bridge between generations, helping viewers learn the names, methods and stories that can otherwise disappear from everyday conversation.

This website extends the same idea in English. It brings together recipes, festival guides, kitchen vocabulary, family context and links back to the original videos. The aim is simple: make Sindhi food easier to find, easier to understand and more meaningful to pass on.
