A weekly meal plan does not need to be rigid. Its real purpose is to remove the daily decision of what to cook while leaving enough flexibility for leftovers, changing appetites and seasonal vegetables.
A useful week includes a mix of dal, vegetables, rice, roti, one special meal and a few quick options. For example, begin with Sindhi Curry and Rice, follow it with a dry vegetable and roti, then use a dal or bean dish on the next day.
Plan one ingredient across more than one meal. Potatoes can move from a vegetable preparation to a snack, greens can support a sabzi and a paratha filling, and cooked rice can become the base of a new meal when stored safely.
Keep a small list of dependable accompaniments: yoghurt, pickle, chutney, papad and a simple salad. These make a basic lunch feel complete without adding a separate elaborate recipe every day.
Before shopping, check the refrigerator, write the week’s meals in order and group the grocery list by vegetables, pantry items and dairy. A plan that is easy to see is much easier to follow.
